Fathers' rights as they pertain to family law

The term fathers' rights may alarm some people, so it is important to understand the phrase in the context of legal matters. Fathers' rights is not a men's rights movement pushing for fathers to have more rights than they currently do, and it in no way advocates or expects legal treatment to differ based on gender. In fact, it is precisely the opposite, seeking only for both genders to be treated equally when it comes to custody matters.

Most child custody disputes involve whether or not the court-ordered custody agreement is fair to both parents. Especially in sole managing conservatorships, parents are often not in agreement regarding who gets to spend how much time with the child, and understandably both parents want to be involved in decisions about the child's upbringing. However, for a few individuals, custody issues are even more serious and more terrible. In some rare instances, one parent simply absconds with the child to another state or even another country.

How can I deal with my ex-spouse ignoring visitation rights?

It is extremely important for the healthy development and well-being of a child that parents remain civil with one another, assuming that they cannot get along. Tensions may run understandably high in the aftermath of a divorce, and it is not unreasonable that former spouses do not wish to see one another, but these parents are encouraged to put the needs of the child first. Unfortunately, some parents attempt to deny visitation.

Military life can be hard on marriages

Serving your country is one of the greatest honors that you can ever have. Military service is something to be proud of, and those of us on whose behalf you are serving are eternally grateful for the freedoms you fight to protect. Unfortunately, while military service is a great honor, it comes with many sacrifices. Most people think of military sacrifice as dying for your country, and while that may be the ultimate sacrifice, we know that there are many other areas of your life that you sacrifice in the name of your country.
