The Law Office of Lisa A. Vance is pleased to announce that David M. Adkisson has joined the firm as an of counsel lawyer, specializing in family law, probate law, and personal injury law.

Adkisson’s family law experience goes back a decade, as part of a broad range of services that he’s offered San Antonio clients as a solo practitioner and as a partner in various firms, dating back to 1994.
“I find its most important in family law to help the children,” he said. “It’s my goal to keep the proceedings as civil as possible, so the kids don’t get in the middle of it or used as pawns. That’s my main focus, and that’s what I like to accomplish in the cases I work on.”
In addition to his family law experience, Adkisson also has probate law experience, which will broaden the probate law and estate law options that The Law Office of Lisa A. Vance clients will have in creating essential documents for power of attorney and medical power of attorney as well as wills.
“It’s important to help families get through a difficult time,” Adkisson says of his initial motivation to add probate law to his range of offerings.
In addition to family law and probate law, Adkisson’s principal areas of practice include personal injury law, medical malpractice, products liability, and insurance law. He graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in 1978 and from St. Mary’s University School of Law with a J.D. in 1982.
He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Organization Membership, is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association (and a current member of its Lawyer Mentor Committee and District Courts Community), a member of State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association (where he currently serves as Director and has served as past President), the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Life Fellow at the Texas Bar Foundation, and a Fellow at the San Antonio Bar Foundation. He is also a Texas Monthly Super Lawyer, and has an Avvo 10.0 rating from the Martindale-Hubbard Law Directory.
